How to Actually Use an AKTU Previous Year Paper
Downloading a paper is the easy part. The students who gain the most from PYQs do one specific thing: they read three or four sessions of the same subject side by side before they start solving anything. Patterns show up fast. AKTU papers follow a fixed unit structure, and a question that appeared in two out of the last four sessions is far more likely to appear again than one that showed up once.
A practical order that works when time is short: open the most recent paper first to see the current format, then work backwards through older sessions marking every repeated question. Group those repeats by unit. Whatever unit produces the most repeats is where your revision time belongs — not the unit you happen to find most interesting.
If you are unsure how marks are distributed across sections, the AKTU question paper pattern breakdown explains the section-wise weightage. And when the exam is genuinely close, the one-week PYQ strategy covers what to skip and what to keep.
One caveat worth knowing: a previous year paper tells you what was asked, not what is in the current syllabus. If a subject's unit list was revised, some older questions will be out of scope. Cross-check against the AKTU syllabus for your subject before you decide a topic is safe to skip.
AKTU Subject Codes With the Most Papers
These core B.Tech subjects have the deepest coverage on the site — each one has papers from several sessions, which is exactly what you need for spotting repeated questions.
Looking for a code that is not listed? The full AKTU subject codes list maps every BAS, BCS, BEE, BEC, BME and BP code to its subject, or search the code directly from the search page.
What Is Inside This AKTU Previous Year Paper Collection
Ryzenstudy hosts 1,447 AKTU previous year question papers across five programmes. B.Tech is the largest section with 1,076 papers spanning first year through final year, followed by B.Pharm with 167, MCA with 154, BBA with 28 and BCA with 22.
Sessions available: 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26. Coverage is not identical across subjects — core first-year papers such as Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics and Programming for Problem Solving carry the most sessions, while newer electives and recently introduced branches naturally have fewer. Every paper page states exactly which sessions exist for that subject rather than implying a complete set.
How the papers are organised
The structure is course → year → semester → subject. A B.Tech CSE student in third semester goes to 2nd year PYQs, picks their branch, and sees every subject for that semester with its AKTU subject code attached. Each subject page then lists the individual sessions as separate downloads, so you take only the paper you need instead of a bundled archive.
Every paper also carries its official subject code — BAS103, BCS101, BEE101, BP502T and so on — because that is how most students actually search. Typing a code into the search box goes straight to that subject.
Why these papers are free
Question papers set by a public university are meant to be available to the students who sat those exams. Ryzenstudy is run by a single AKTU student and carries no paywall, no forced sign-up and no download timer. There is no premium tier to upsell you into, which is why the download button is simply a download button.
If a paper you need is missing, the request form takes a subject code and gets it prioritised. Requests are what drive most new uploads.
AKTU, UPTU and old papers
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow was known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) before 2015, and many students still search using the old name. For core engineering subjects the question style has changed very little, so pre-2015 papers remain useful for pattern-spotting even though the subject codes were renumbered. Where a syllabus has genuinely been revised, check the current unit list before treating an old question as in-scope.
?Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are these AKTU previous year papers free to download?
Yes. All 1,447 papers on Ryzenstudy are completely free to download as PDF. There is no subscription, no premium tier, and no charge at any step.
Do I need to login to download the papers?
No. There is no account, no OTP and no sign-up wall. Pick your course, open the paper page, and the PDF downloads directly.
How many years of AKTU question papers are available?
Papers currently run from the 2020-21 session to 2025-26. Coverage varies by subject — first-year subjects like Engineering Mathematics and Engineering Physics have the most sessions, while newer electives have fewer.
Which courses are covered?
B.Tech (all major branches), B.Pharm, MCA, BCA and BBA. B.Tech has the largest collection, covering 1st year through 4th year across CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil, AIML and CSE-DS.
Can I search by AKTU subject code instead of subject name?
Yes. Every paper is tagged with its official AKTU subject code — BAS103, BCS101, BEE101, BP502T and so on. Searching the code takes you straight to that subject's papers.
Are old UPTU question papers still useful for AKTU exams?
For core subjects the question pattern has barely changed since the UPTU era, so older papers still show which topics repeat. For subjects whose syllabus was revised, check the current unit list on the syllabus pages before relying on an old paper.
Do the PDFs have watermarks or ads on them?
No. The PDFs are clean scans of the original question papers — no watermark, no stamped logo, no injected advertising. They print exactly as they appear.
How are the papers organised?
Course first, then year, then semester, then subject. Every subject page lists each available session separately, so you can pick a specific year rather than downloading a bundle and hunting through it.
